Incredible Event in Captivity – Stingray Babies Have Been Born!

The First Successful Breeding of Hybrid Stingrays

On Tuesday, January 28, 2025, we witnessed a unique event. In our facility, stingrays successfully reproduced in captivity – a rare phenomenon. The mother of the babies is a Leopold’s stingray, and the father is a spotted stingray.

Two New Residents

Two beautiful babies were born – one male and one female:

  • Male: Chuckie
  • Female: Rosie

All the babies are thriving, and we are closely monitoring them to ensure their healthy development.

How Do Stingrays Reproduce?

Stingrays undergo internal fertilization. The embryos develop inside eggs that remain within the mother’s body. Just before birth, the eggs hatch, and then the babies are born.

What’s Next?

Our little stingray family will receive the best possible care. We will continue to monitor their growth and behavior and keep you updated on all the latest news. Wish our little stingrays luck on their journey through life!
